Looping repeats a clip back to back into one longer file, for backgrounds, displays or posting a short moment that would otherwise be too brief. Videozify repeats it 2 to 10 times in your browser without re-encoding, so it is fast and lossless.

How to use loop video

  1. Drop the clip onto the box above.
  2. Choose how many times it should play.
  3. Press Loop video.
  4. Download the longer MP4.

How loop video works

The loop uses stream copy: the compressed frames are written several times rather than decoded and re-encoded, so quality is identical to the source and the job finishes in seconds.

Because nothing is re-encoded, the output keeps the source codec. An MP4 in gives an MP4 out.

Common uses include background videos for websites and event screens, short product spins for online shops, ambient clips for streams, and stretching a two-second moment into something a platform will accept as a full post. A looped clip also makes a good base for a GIF, which can be generated from the result with the video to GIF tool.

Because the loop is built with FFmpeg's stream_loop option and copied without decoding, the job uses very little memory, so even phones can loop long clips.

Everything runs on your device. See also Reverse video.

Settings explained

For a seamless loop, the first and last frames should match. Trim the clip so it starts and ends on a similar frame.

Making loops that look seamless

A loop is seamless when the last frame flows into the first. Look for a clip where motion repeats naturally: waves, a spinning object, a flickering fire or a walk cycle. Trim it so it ends just before the motion returns to its starting point.

Stream copy means the loop is written in seconds, even for long results. The trade-off is that each repeat starts on the clip's first keyframe, so trim with the video trimmer, which re-encodes, if the source starts mid-motion.

Background loops for websites and displays should usually be silent. Run the clip through the mute tool before looping so the repeat isn't announced by a sound jump.

Social platforms already loop short videos, so a looped upload mainly helps on platforms with a minimum length or when you want a longer track for music.

Frequently asked questions

Does looping lose quality?

No, frames are copied, not re-encoded.

Can I loop a GIF?

GIFs already loop; convert GIF to MP4 first if you need a longer MP4.

Is there a click at the loop point?

Possibly, if the audio doesn't start and end on silence.

How long can the result be?

Ten times your clip, within browser memory.

Is it uploaded?

No.

Is it free?

Yes.

Can I loop more than 10 times?

Loop the result again; 10 × 10 gives 100 repeats.

Will the file size multiply?

Yes, roughly in proportion to the number of repeats.

Can I loop a video on my phone?

Yes. Looping copies data without re-encoding, so it is fast in mobile Chrome and Safari, even on older phones.

Can I loop a WebM or MOV file?

Yes. The loop keeps the source container and codec, so a WebM comes back as a WebM and a MOV as a MOV.
