Choose fileThis tool lets you add a visible text or logo watermark to your own video for branding or copyright. You can overlay text (using the Inter font) or a PNG/JPG/WebP image, choose size and position, set opacity, and add an optional dark box for readability. The result is a new MP4 with your watermark, processed entirely in your browser.
How to add a watermark to your video
- Drop your video onto the area above.
- Choose 'Text' or 'Logo' watermark.
- Adjust position, size, opacity, and background box as needed.
- Preview the result, then click Add watermark.
- Download your new MP4 with the watermark.
How watermarking works in Videozify
Watermarking here uses FFmpeg built to run in your browser. For text, it draws your chosen words onto the video using the Inter font. You can set the size, pick one of six screen positions, and adjust how transparent the text is. A semi-transparent dark box can be added for contrast.
For logo watermarks, you upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image (ideally with transparency for PNG). The tool overlays it onto the video, scaled to a percentage of video width, with your chosen opacity. The logo sits in one of six standard corners or the center.
The tool always re-encodes the video to H.264 MP4 to add the watermark. Audio is copied unchanged. This means the process takes a few seconds to a few minutes depending on video length and your device speed. No files are uploaded—everything runs in your browser memory.
Watermarks are meant for branding your own content or marking your own work. This tool is not for removing anyone else's marks or for use on videos you don't own. Always use your own material.
Add logos or text to your own footage, all in your browser. See also Burn subtitles, which overlays captions as permanent text.

Watermarking adds a visible mark—text or logo—on top of a video, helping identify the creator or owner and discouraging reuse without credit.
Settings explained
Text watermark: Enter your branding or copyright message. Choose from three font sizes. Pick a position—typically bottom right or top left. Adjust opacity for subtlety; 40–60% is common. Add a dark box if the text blends into the background. Inter is a clean, modern typeface that stays readable at small sizes.
Logo watermark: Upload your logo as a PNG (best for transparency), JPG, or WebP. The tool scales it to 12%, 18%, or 28% of the video width. For subtlety, lower opacity to 30–50%. Place the logo in a corner or center. For best results, use a logo with a transparent background and high resolution (at least 500px wide for HD video).
Opacity and background box: Opacity controls how see-through your watermark is. Lower values are less distracting but easier to crop out. A dark background box increases contrast for text, especially on busy footage. For logos, use opacity instead of a box for a cleaner look.
Tips and alternatives for watermarking
Keep your watermark clear but not distracting. For text, short phrases like your brand, website, or copyright year work best. For logos, use a simple, high-contrast version. Place it where it won't block faces or key visuals—bottom right is standard for branding, top left for copyright.
If you want to watermark a batch of videos or need advanced animation, desktop editors like Clipchamp (Windows), iMovie (Mac), CapCut, or Adobe Premiere give more control. These tools can keyframe watermarks in and out, or place them for only part of the video.
On Windows, the Photos app and Clipchamp let you add text or stickers, but with limited position and size options. Mac users can use iMovie to add a logo as a picture-in-picture overlay. On mobile, CapCut and InShot are popular. VLC can overlay logos, but offers fewer controls and no preview.
For audio-only watermarking (adding a spoken tag), use Audacity to mix your audio logo into the soundtrack before combining it with video. But for visible marks, Videozify is quick, free, and doesn’t require installation or sign-in.
Frequently asked questions
Will watermarking reduce video quality?
- The video is re-encoded to H.264 to apply the watermark, so there may be a slight quality loss. For most HD videos, this is minor and barely visible.
What image formats can I use for logos?
- PNG (with transparency) is best, but JPG and WebP also work. Use a logo at least 500px wide for sharpness on 1080p video.
Can I change the watermark position?
- Yes—choose from six positions: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, top center, or center.
Does the watermark appear on the whole video?
- Yes, the watermark is overlaid for the entire duration of the video. There is no option for timed appearance.
Is my video uploaded or stored?
- No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
What is the maximum video size?
- Browser memory is the main limit. HD videos up to about 1–2GB usually work on modern computers. Phones may handle smaller files.
Can I use my own font for text?
- No, only the Inter font is supported for text watermarks. This ensures consistent rendering in the browser.
Will the watermark protect my video from theft?
- A visible watermark makes it harder to reuse your video without credit, but determined users can crop or blur it. For best protection, keep the watermark in a corner and semi-transparent.
Does audio get changed?
- No. The audio track is copied directly, so there’s no loss or change to sound quality.
Can I batch watermark several videos?
- No, this tool handles one video at a time. For bulk jobs, desktop editors or scripting with FFmpeg may be faster.
